What We Do
The Phoenix Centre for Creative Living is a Humanistic, Zen based counselling centre located in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. We combine cognitive-behavioural approaches with Zen practicality.
We help our clients to find focus, meaning, and depth.
How We Do It
We use caring and compassionate dialogue, Zen stories and assignments, and a clear vision of what is possible, to assist our clients to learn new ways of being and relating.
Take Away Point
Nothing changes until you do! Stop doing what does not work, start doing what does.

What We Do
Bodywork is a process that uses deep pressure on blocked muscles in the body. The process assists the recipient in releasing buried emotions.
How We Do It
We apply direct pressure to specific acupuncture points (trigger points) on the body. We add in breathwork, and the combination helps our clients find old material, process it, and "work through" the buried material.
Take Away Point
Talk therapy is great, and yet... the body has a "mind of its own," and speaks to us directly. We need to learn the voice of our body, and take the messages seriously, so we can let go of drama, pain, and illness.
Breathwork

Chakras
The Indian Chakra System provides insight not only to our internal energy, but also to our psychological development. Click the image above to learn more.

An Overview of our work

The Phoenix Centre's core belief is in the essential unity of body, mind, and spirit.
Living a life of presence, clarity, and depth is impossible without developing all three areas.

Our approach is to use directed, Zen-based, cognitive and Humanistic Therapy to work with the mind. We use Bodywork, Breathwork, and Chakra energy work to address the body. And, we teach meditation, Qi Gong, and other Eastern approaches to reach the depth of your spirit.

If you'd like to know more , have a look at this overview from one of our BLOG articles.

A bit more about the resources available

The Phoenix Centre is rooted in the Humanistic and Transpersonal Psychotherapy movements. This is a therapy and lifestyle understanding that stresses personal responsibility, our innate ability to make better choices, (thus integrating more of our selves into every day living,) and respect for and appreciation of the desires and differences of others.
