Event Planners:

We Want You to Achieve Excellence

I will personally design each experience to perfectly fit your situation and needs.
My goal is to make your job, as a meeting planner, simple and fun.
In consultation with you, I’ll design an event that will bring you the recognition you deserve!
Act now, and I’ll help you to meet and exceed your goals.
Wayne C. Allen

Participants:

No matter what the topic, our commitment to you is the same –

You will master practical techniques for increasing your creativity. You will find and deepen your sense of purpose. And most of all, you will go home with a customized action plan – with the tools and the motivation necessary to make powerful, life-altering change.
You will learn to:

  • achieve success through personal empowerment, clear communication, and “living your passion.”
  • replace stress-causing behaviours with an attentive, focused, and mindful lifestyle.
  • use “active listening” communication skills to reach mutual goals with a directness and clarity that will astound you.
  • find, deepen, and strengthen your creativity through visualization, goal-clarification, and “forward-pacing.”
  • develop and maximize your personal self-worth by learning to be open, honest, and direct in every relationship.
  • discover, embrace and build upon your personal vocation.

Keynotes & Events that Change Lives

No Offense –
learning to communicate without annoying, stifling, or angering yourself.

Despite endless opportunities to practice, most of us do not communicate very well. We might have taken a workshop or two, or experimented with a Communication Model at home, but find that things get dicey quickly when confronted with conflicts at work.

This workshop is designed to help you learn the most powerful and effective communication style for work situations — the bottom line is respected, while we find the means to reach both consensus and “buy in.“

In this day-long workshop, we’ll explore:

  • the difference between personal communication and business dialogue
  • why we take things personally, and how to let go of the pain and drama
  • how to neutralize verbal attacks
  • how to turn confrontation to consensus
  • the elegant use of “I” language
  • what to do when you reach an impasse
  • why your feelings are interesting yet irrelevant in a business environment

We’ll examine the Communication Model, and dissect how to use it effectively. We’ll be clear on the difference between how we communicate with friends and loved ones, and how this approach must be modified in a business environment.

We’ll practice speaking clearly, while at the same time learning our triggers — the events that we anger or upset ourselves over.

We’ll develop strategies for learning the patterns of the people we communicate with — so we begin to ask intelligent questions that lead to commonalities and consensus.

We’ll explore the motivations and tactics of verbal bullying — you’ll discover how to “just watch” — thereby neutralizing the forward momentum of the attack.

You’ll gain an understanding of all the ways you “get in your own way” when things become difficult, and you’ll discover techniques for getting yourself back on track.

You’ll find the tools to stop blaming, or expecting the other person to look after you or do it your way, while at the same time enacting a way of communicating that has the best potential for getting your point of view across.

This highly interactive workshop is designed to provide you with the information, support, tools, and perspectives you need to excel at business communication, and to effectively make you impervious to verbal game-playing and one-upmanship.
You’ll leave this event with a sense of humour about your own communication style, and an understanding of why others react the way they do. From this place of knowing, you’ll be empowered to design elegant and mindful dialogue designed to move you and your co-workers forward.

The Zen of Being Collaborative –
tools for empowered project development

Our favourite way to develop new processes and projects is to involve a wide range of people in structured brain-storming sessions.

Example: We once invited a custodian to an accountant’s meeting, and he pointed out the obvious — there were three copies of everything in the trash, and several people had weeded through all of it — invoices went digital the next week!

We teach you a method of breaking down any project into chunks, and then generating cross-pollinated ideas that dove-tail together in simple and elegant ways.

You’ll discover:

  • How to Choose a Framework — we’ll explore our Re-Shape It system for project assembly
  • Why it’s vital to follow a structural theme — the project overview is essential for focusing in on what we’re working on. The structural theme provides the frame that contains the project
  • Methods for Working in a Modular Fashion — we’ll explore the 5 w’s in the context of the over-all project. We’ll break the project down in non-traditional ways. (Remember the custodian?) We’ll break the mould of who does what when, and why?
  • The Power of Getting Familiar With Less — we introduce the idea of efficiency — finding what we call the minimal necessary point that eliminates bottlenecks, duplication, and needless complexity
  • Preventive Measures that Save Time And Money — often, we re-invent the wheel. The modular approach means that “chunks of process” can be effectively inserted into future projects.
***Simply put, preventative measures are the key. Standardizing basic business practices ensures that all projects run smoothly. This percolates down to more money saved and also a more enjoyable working environment.
  • How to get Everyone on Board — back to our idea of involving everyone from the get-go. Often, new projects are “dropped from on high,” and the people doing the implementing are not consulted. We explore why this creates a no-win situation, and look at the obvious alternative.
  • Why it’s essential to Tell Them What You Can’t Do — because the channels of communication are open, there are fewer surprises over what “doesn’t” appear in the project.

We then give you an overview of how to move from the Planning Phase to the Development Phase
~ how to set up a test environment
~ strategies for obtaining and addressing feedback

And we conclude by exploring a tidy and elegant Launch and Test Phase

This process is simple, direct, fun, and elegant. Using these planning tools cuts development time, while increasing engagement and motivation.
You’ll find yourself devising project chunks that work across your company, and as the process continues and builds, there is increasing savings of both time and money.
This process works because it’s collaborative without being clunky, dynamic without jargon, and both simple to understand and easy to implement.

From Confusion to Clarity –
How to Speak Your Truth for Maximum Effectiveness

You have a message to convey, and the one and only measure of your effectiveness is whether others truly hear what you are saying.

In order to do this well, you have to master yourself.

Using live demonstrations and modeling, Wayne provides you with the tools you need:

  • you’ll learn to use a powerful “centering” method — which is guaranteed to cut through conflict.
  • you’ll discover how to quiet the mind’s noise, end your self-criticism, and find within yourself a place of quiet and focused attention.
  • you’ll explore ways to easily access this center of calm and quiet, and to communicate clearly and directly from there.
Using visualization techniques, meditation, and “quantum focusing,” you’ll discover a calm oasis in the centre of 21st century turmoil. You’ll find the tools necessary to re-charge your life and re-vitalize your message.
In short, you will learn to focus your attention inward, and from there, to communicate in a direct, caring, clear, and effective way.
