Hi there,

After several days of consideration, I've decided not to write Into the Centre this week. The events of this past Tuesday, combined with my back kicking up, and I suspect the two are linked, means that I need to take this weekend off.

My heart goes out to the families of the victims of this tragedy. I know you are all holding them warmly in your hearts. My focus is also on the heroes - the fire fighters, police, and especially the hostages on the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania - for fighting back and averting an even greater tragedy.

I did write a piece about all of this, earlier in the week, sort of a rant against New Age thinking - a piece dedicated to being, as I choose to be, rational as opposed to optimistic or pessimistic. It's a bit strong, and if you want to read it, it's at:
