Welcome to The Centre - we're glad you're here!
An introduction by Wayne C. Allen
The Phoenix Centre was established in 1982. My goal is simple - we want you to be whole! Our approach is Zen based, Transpersonal and Humanistic. This means that we do not consider participants to be "broken, defective, sick, or mentally ill. We assume that each person we work with is quite capable of discovering their strengths, finding their potential, and shifting their behaviour. As they do so, they find personal empowerment, become self-responsible, and discover the benefits of living with simple presence.
We take a Zen-based approach to Dialogue, Qi Gong, bodywork, and living. What this means is that we find ways to teach simplicity, clarity, focus, and presence. We teach through stories, activities and homework. This process helps participants to recognize the stories in their heads, to stop letting the stories run their lives, and to "let go" of clinging to the mind's games.
The best way to get a feeling for what we offer is to explore our site. I know you've come here for resources for self-knowing, and for creating healthy relationships, for reducing stress, and for learning to live mindfully.
Below are links to to resources for each of these four topics. I've also included a link to our Bodywork section, as many visitors are interested in Body/Mind/Spirit integration, energy work, and improving their sexual response.
