Relationships 101
At the core of your being, you know your relationship could be more than it is. Petty annoyances have become obstacles to communication. You feel unstable, and think your relationship is off track.
You are not sure who your partner is, nor where your partner is headed. You got into this "relationship thing" to find completion; instead, you feel more alone than ever.
You, my friends, are in need of a new approach, a new understanding of what relationships are all about. You need Relationships 101, by The Phoenix Centre for Creative Living.
Relationships 101 is a four day program (we call it quasi-residential.) If you're within driving distance of Elmira, Ont., you can commute. If not, we'll make suggestions about local hotels and a lovely Inn.
During this four day experience (Thursday 6 pm to Sunday 3 pm), you'll re-examine everything you were ever told or believed about how relationships work. You'll discover how your beliefs about relationships, taught to you by your parents and society, have caused you to drift apart. You'll experience the detrimental effects of bad communication, and will learn and practice a model of communication that will lead to clarity and understanding.
You'll have time to explore formerly irresolvable issues with your partner, both as a twosome and within the larger group. You'll find the time to truly listen, and to respond not out of anger, but out of interest and curiosity.
You'll learn about the stages relationships go through; where they bog down, about power struggles and about moving past conflict to true partnership. All in an environment of inclusiveness, safety and powerful experiential learning.
If you come with a partner, you'll work on your own issues with your partner. Others who are unattached and choose to participate to learn relationship skills will work with an "assigned partner." Or, simply bring a friend!!
This workshop begins April 27 at 6 pm, for supper, and ends April 30 at 3 pm. The location is at Wayne & Dar's, 94 Arthur Street South, Elmira. The cost is $400.00 per person, inclusive of meals, exclusive of lodging. There will be a minimum of 8 participants, and a maximum of 14.
